Spring has finally arrived in Finland! Well, supposedly it is summer by now, but we should not get into it because there will be lengthy discussions whether or not summer actually exists in Finland. But for today’s sake, let’s just call it Spring!

It is normal for people living in the Nordic region to start their Spring cleaning when the snow starts melting. The whole house is being cleaned, from the interior to the garden for those lucky enough to afford one. The interior and the windows, however, are the ones most people care about. They would like to make it look and feels fresh.

I have been living long enough in the Nordic that I follow the tradition of Spring cleaning. This year, I started by cleaning my sofa. First, I took off the upholsteries and put them to wash in the washing machine using Softcare Laundry Detergent. Then I take out the inner foam, put them under the sun and beat them up a couple of times with my tennis racquet. During this time, I vacuum cleaned the frame of the sofa to get rid of the crumbs, dirt and dusts. Once clean and dry, I spray Softcare Furniture Protector on the upholsteries to protect it against soiling, especially having 2 boys, aged 10 and 5. Before putting the upholsteries back on, I spray Softcare Odour Control on the foam to get rid of some of the odours that got stuck on it during the winter. Once all these are done, my sofa feels so fresh and soft because protecting it with Softcare Furniture Protector does not affect the properties of the fibers. Now I can enjoy my sofas and the boys can be on it without us having to allways remind them to be careful.
